More Moonpie Adventures

So, I wrote about Eric's Moonpie Adventures back in July. You'll have to click over on the right if you want to review (July 17 and 22, I believe). I don't know how to do that hyper-linky thingy yet. (Oh, come on, like I don't have anything better to do than check out a book from the library called "Blogging for Dummies" and then let it sit by the back door, unread, while I go about the business of taking care of the kids, house, etc. until the two weeks are up for which I have to return the book, even though I could renew it if there is no waiting list, but won't because why would I have the time or inclination to read a book within the next two weeks if I haven't touched it in the last two weeks, especially if I'm behind on reading Newsweek, Parents, Real Simple and InSyle magazines.....and what was my point anyway?!)

Seems Moonpies aren't usually the "treat" of choice for a certain five year old (offered, of course, only after a healthy meal featuring all five nutritious food groups.....it is five, right?). The hubby and I were wondering with whom to share our generous bounty of pies. Enter a note from Eric's teacher requesting parents to sign up on Fridays to read to the class. BINGO! I had the bright idea of reading the story that started the whole Moonpie obsession and passing out Moonpies for treats afterwards! I promptly signed up for the first Friday. I didn't want to miss the freshness date on the moonpie package....

It seemed to be a hit and afterwards, I captured this picture by telling all the kids to say "moonpie!" (Eric is in the middle and a little hidden behind Mr. Enthusiastic in the front).

Success! Only a few Moonpies left....
