Mother/Son Dance

A few weeks ago, Eric and I attended a mother/son dance hosted by the local parks and recreation department (since this blog is for posterity, I have to play catch up and document these moments!) The theme was around the world. They gave everyone a passport upon entering and you could get it stamped at four different countries where they also had refreshments. We checked it out, we danced and then Eric wanted to get a snack. After having a few bites, he declared he was sufficiently rejuvinated and wanted to get back out on the dance floor! We boogied almost the whole time.

Chicken Dance
(side note: I have always hated the chicken dance and refuse to do it at weddings, etc. However, it was actually kind of fun with a 5 year old that had never done it before!)

I'm not sure which dance this was, but it looks good!

I didn't notice anything strange at the time, but upon looking at the dance pictures, Eric's face had a strange looking glow. It's because a few hours before, he looked like this:

The face painting (it's supposed to be a pumpkin, but was a little smudged by this point) was from a birthday party that was held at the pumpkin patch. It was a great idea, the kids had a blast and it was a nice change from Pump it Up! Prior to the party, Eric had a soccer game. Prior to that, he had swim lessons. Quite the busy day! Whew.

I had so much fun with my sweet boy. What a date!
