AND, Elyse went on the potty all day today (well, almost) without any prompting from me! (Sorry, I have to post this for posterity and Grandparents). Up until now, she has not had much interest AT ALL to be potty trained. She would sit on the potty when she felt like it, but only tinkled once or twice.
I volunteered at her school on Tuesday and when I walked in, her teacher was taking her to the bathroom and said to me "she said she wanted to go poopy on the potty!" Nothing happened, but maybe a little peer pressure or interest is happening at school!
She has been waking up dry for awhile now, but would never sit on the potty in the morning. This morning after breakfast, she was still dry and said "I want to sit on the potty". So I said "Okay!". She went. (Side note here, she had a poopy diaper right before we left for preschool. One step at a time!). After school and lunch, she said she wanted to sit on the potty again (she never had a diaper change at school...and I now this because I put two diapers in her backpack every day and they were both still there). She did. She went. Hooray! She stayed dry during her nap and went on the potty again, and then again before bed. Hooray! I never once asked her if she had to go. Every time, she said to me "I want to sit on the potty". When I was asking her on "dry" mornings if she wanted to sit on the potty, she wouldn't, so I'm not asking!! Little Miss Independent.
I hope I'm not jinxing it by putting it in writing, but.....HOORAY!! I hope she keeps it up! I have some Fancy Nancy and Minnie Mouse big girl panties all washed and ready to go! (Can you tell I'm excited?!)
And here's a random before school picture I took of the kids the other day. Is it just me, or are they looking tall? Slow down!
